be maintained between us and the Kingdom of Siam, I did all in my power to

of the King of Siam's birthday took place,
and a salute was
fired in honour thereof.
Before leaving
the 20th ultimo the Prince desired the Consul for Siam to express
his
acknowledgments for the
attention shown to him by this Government, and I enclose, for Your Lordship's
information, copy of the letter addressed by
the
Consul
